Do you like garlic bread? This weeks recipe may be the on for you.
You know that garlic bread is always a good idea, right? It doesn’t matter what sort of mood or day you’ve had, it’s the perfect accompaniment regardless.
It’s actually super simple to make garlic bread at home, you take a simple baguette, make some cuts and fill them with a garlic butter… It’s really that simple. Trust me when I say, you’ll never go back to store bought after trying this recipe.
If you’d like a super simple baguette recipe, look no further – I have the perfect recipe here.
Anyway, let’s get started, shall we?
Ingredients:
2-3 Baguettes (homemade or store bought).
5-6 Garlic cloves (you can use more or less, depending on the strength of garlic you like. I went with a healthy 5-6 garlic cloves).
Parsley (I never weigh this up, use what looks and/or feels right).
125g Butter.
Method:
Before you get started on the garlic bread, you’ll want to do some prep. Weigh up all your ingredients, grab yourself a food processor and preheat your oven to 180˚c/350˚f.
When it comes to slicing the baguettes, you can do it two ways. Method one is to take the baguette and make cuts (approx. 1 inch in thickness), almost all the way though but ensuring you leave a little intact at the bottom. The second method is to cut the baguette all the way though (approx. 1 inch in thickness).
Now you’ve sorted the bread, you can make the garlic butter. Grab yourself a food processor and place the garlic cloves and parsley into it, pulse them together until they are much smaller and combined.
Then you can go ahead and add in the butter and pulse until the butter, garlic and parsley have all combined. This doesn’t take too long but around 1-2 minutes to ensure everything has been fully incorporated fully.
The amount of garlic butter you yield is quite a lot, so be generous with the garlic butter and any you have left over, wrap well with clingfilm and place into a container and it freezes really well.
Spread the garlic butter either into the cuts or onto the slices of bread, then place onto a lined baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the butter has melted into the bread and is coloured well.
Enjoy on its own or as a starter, whichever works best for you. This is honestly the easiest and best garlic bread you can make from home.
If you want to make this in advance, you can. Follow the steps up to spreading then garlic butter over it, then just wrap in clingfilm and freeze until you intend to bake it off. When the time comes, preheat your oven to 180˚c/350˚f and bake for about 15-17 minutes, but keep your eye on it.
That’s all for today guys, I hope you enjoyed. If you did, don’t forget to share this recipe with your family and friends and enjoy it.
